STRONG LEADERS,
STRONGER COMMUNITIES

Riley's Headshot

Join Our Mission

Riley believes in the power of community. His mission is to empower citizens of Halifax Regional Municipality, by addressing their needs and concerns. Learn the issues and join us in making a difference.

Who Are You Voting For?

Riley, a lifelong resident of Cow Bay, has been deeply involved in the community from a young age, volunteering with organizations like the Salvation Army, SPCA, and special needs groups. He entered the workforce before high school while still managing to graduate with high marks. Riley then completed two college programs, all while working multiple jobs. Before even finishing his studies, he became a respected voice across the Maritimes as a morning news anchor. Later, he took over as general manager and program director of 105.9 Seaside-FM, following the passing of Wayne Harrett. Under Riley’s leadership, the station reached new heights and is now recognized as one of the top community radio stations in Canada by the NCRA.

After nearly five years in the role, a new opportunity arose—the chance to be a voice for the people of HRM on a larger stage. Riley has always been passionate about improving our municipality, and with the visible decline in city standards over the past few years, he feels it's time for action. With his experience and dedication to the community, Riley is ready to be the strong leader Halifax needs.

OUR CAUSES

Riley is dedicated to supporting small businesses, preserving heritage, lowering taxes, improving traffic and parking, restoring power to the outskirts, and enhancing communication for seniors and those without technology. We believe that by investing our time and efforts in these causes, we can truly make a difference in our community.

Supporting Small Businesses

Economic Growth

Small businesses are the backbone of our community, driving innovation, creating jobs, and fostering a unique sense of identity in our neighborhoods. Riley Murphy is committed to supporting their growth and success, recognizing that when our local businesses thrive, so does our entire community. By prioritizing initiatives that provide small businesses with the resources, support, and opportunities they need, we believe we can build a stronger, more resilient local economy that benefits everyone in Halifax.

A Halifax for All

Every Voice Counts, Every Voice Heard

We need to empower our community by actively involving you in decision-making through innovative polling and survey services. Inspired by successful initiatives in cities like Vancouver and Toronto, Riley Murphy plans to implement a platform that ensures your voice shapes our policies, from public transportation to community services. Accessible online, by phone, and in person, this service will make it easy for every resident to participate. Your feedback will directly inform our actions, and together, we’ll build a  vibrant Halifax.

Improving Traffic and Parking

Getting Around

Traffic and parking can be a major headache for residents and visitors alike. Riley is committed to finding solutions that will make it easier for everyone to get around our community.
We find ourselves in a city where funds are allocated for speed bumps, yet our roads remain riddled with potholes. It’s a paradox that we must confront—a city where we invest in slowing down, while the very pathways that connect our communities are crumbling beneath us. We must shift our focus from temporary fixes to lasting solutions, ensuring that our infrastructure is not just maintained, but renewed and revitalized.

Housing Affordability

Living Without Stress

Riley Murphy presents a visionary strategy to make housing more accessible. The plan involves offering tax breaks and incentives to landlords who prioritize affordability, creating a more inclusive housing landscape where everyone can access safe and affordable places to call home. Incorporating user insights into the equation significantly enhances the feasibility and impact of this proposal, addressing the pressing issue of housing affordability directly and showing a commitment to the well-being of residents the overall sustainability of the community.
